	     Vor zweitausend Jahren lebte ein Mann
             bekannt für Geschichten und Wunder und dann...
             er war vielen unbequem, sie brachten ihn um
             heut' zähl'n wir die Jahre, doch sonst sind wir stumm

	     Einmal im Jahr ist heilige Nacht
             ein Kind in der Krippe und >O wie lacht<
             wir machen Geschenke und spenden auch Geld
             verändern die Worte des Mannes die Welt ?

	         Es ist Zeit,
                 dass wir seine Worte versteh'n und versteh'n was er meint
                 Es ist Zeit,
                 dass wir seine Liebe spür'n und spür'n, dass sie bleibt
                 Es ist Zeit,
                 dass wir endlich tun was er sagt und sagen was er tat

             wir kochten es ein mit Zucker im Glas

             we boiled them down and got them preserved
             and once in a year we're tasting the jam
             we're praising the sweetness but don't comprehend
